Terms of service
Version 1.0. Last updated .
These terms are the agreement between you and us for using Shotcup. Please read them before you create an account. Together with the acceptable use policy and the plan details on the pricing page, they are the whole agreement. The privacy notice explains how we handle personal data.
Who we are
Shotcup is a trading name of the operator below, based in the United Kingdom ("we", "us"). You can reach us at support@shotcup.dev.

Need this in text (for example for a screen reader)? Email privacy@shotcup.dev.
"You" means the person who accepts these terms, or the organisation they accept them for. If you use Shotcup for an organisation, you confirm that you may bind it. You must be 18 or older to create an account. Some parts of these terms differ for consumers (people using Shotcup mainly outside their trade, business, craft or profession) and business customers; where they do, we say so.
The service
Shotcup runs JavaScript you send in isolated, short-lived sandboxes and returns the output and the files your code writes. You reach it through the website, the REST API, the MCP server and our SDK, with an API key or a signed-in session. Files your code writes can be served as artifacts on shotcup.page. Saved sandboxes keep files between runs.
Shotcup is under active development. We may add, change or remove features; see Availability and changes to the service.
Your account and API keys
- Give accurate details when you sign up and keep your email address current.
- One person or organisation, one account. Do not share an account or open more than one to get around limits.
- Keep your API keys secret. Anyone with a key can run code on your account, and you are responsible for what happens under your keys. A key is shown once and stored only as a hash, so we cannot show it again.
- If a key may have leaked, revoke it in the dashboard at once. If you think your account has been compromised, tell us at security@shotcup.dev.
Plans, allowances and overage
Each plan sets the runs and compute-hours included each month, how many runs may go at once, how long and how large a run may be, and how long run history is kept. The current plans, prices and limits are on the pricing page. Every account starts on the Free plan.
- Allowances reset at the start of each calendar month (UTC). Unused allowance does not carry over.
- On the Free plan, runs beyond the allowance are refused until the next month. On a paid plan, they are refused too unless you opt into overage.
- Overage is off until you turn it on in the dashboard. With it on, usage beyond the allowance is charged at the overage prices on the pricing page, up to the monthly spend cap you set (at most $10,000). Once the cap is reached, runs are refused until the next month.
- Rate and size limits apply on every plan to keep the service fair and stable; we may refuse requests that exceed them.
Payments
Paid plans are not on sale yet. When they are, this section applies to them, and the price, billing period and renewal terms are shown to you before you pay.
Payments are processed through Stripe Managed Payments. You buy from Onelink (Sold through Link, LLC, a Stripe company), which is the merchant of record: it charges and collects your subscription and overage amounts, calculates and pays any sales tax or VAT, sends receipts and invoices, and handles payment questions, refunds and chargebacks. At checkout you accept Onelink's customer terms, which govern the payment; these terms govern the service.
- A paid plan is a monthly subscription, charged in advance, that renews automatically each month at the price then in force until you cancel. Overage you opted into is charged after the month in which you used it.
- We tell you at least 30 days before a price increase takes effect for your subscription. If you do not want to pay the new price, cancel before then.
- If a payment fails, we may move your account to the Free plan until it succeeds. Your saved data stays, subject to the Free plan's limits for new runs.
Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel a paid plan at any time through Onelink's customer portal at link.com (the link is in your receipt), or by emailing support@shotcup.dev. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you have paid for and then moves to Free. We do not refund part of a period, except where the law or Onelink's terms provide otherwise.
If you are a consumer in the UK or the EU, you can cancel a new subscription within 14 days of buying it and get a refund, through Onelink or by emailing support@shotcup.dev with "withdraw from contract" in the subject. Because the service starts at once at your request, we may deduct an amount in proportion to what you used before you cancelled.
Acceptable use
You must follow the acceptable use policy. It lists what Shotcup may not be used for, how to report abuse and how we act on reports, including the reasons we give you and how you can appeal.
Your content and artifacts
You own the code, files and data you send to Shotcup and the output and artifacts your runs produce ("your content"). We claim no ownership of it.
You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, run, process and display your content only as needed to provide the service to you: running your code, showing you the results, keeping run history for your plan (Free 1 day, Pro 7 days, Scale 30 days, Platform 90 days) and saved sandboxes until you delete them, and serving the artifacts you share. The licence ends when the content is deleted. We do not use your content to train AI models or for advertising, and we look at it only when needed to run the service, to investigate abuse or a security issue, or when the law requires it.
You are responsible for your content and for having the rights to it, and for what you do with the output.
- Public artifact links are capability links: anyone who has the link can open the file until it expires, without signing in. We do not list them and ask search engines not to index them, but we cannot control where you or others share a link.
- Private artifacts open only through short-lived signed links from your account. Use them for anything personal or confidential.
- Run history is deleted when your plan's retention ends. Download anything you want to keep before then.
Shotcup itself, the website and the Shotcup name are ours. Our open-source packages, such as the SDK and the templates, are licensed under their own licences. If you send us feedback, we may use it without any obligation to you.
Availability and changes to the service
We aim to keep Shotcup running and publish its uptime on the status page, but we do not promise a level of availability. The service may be interrupted for maintenance, upgrades or reasons outside our control.
We may change the service and its limits. If a change materially reduces what a paid plan includes, we tell you at least 30 days before it applies to you, and you can cancel before then. If we stop offering Shotcup, we give at least 30 days' notice so you can retrieve your content, and we refund any amount you paid for a period after the service ends.
Suspension and termination
You can stop using Shotcup at any time and ask us to close your account at support@shotcup.dev.
We may suspend or close your account, or remove content, at once if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms or the acceptable use policy, if the law requires it, or if it is needed to protect the service, our users or others. Suspending an account revokes its API keys, refuses its runs and stops every artifact link it created. When we act, we tell you why and how to appeal, as the acceptable use policy describes. For other reasons, we may end your account with at least 30 days' notice.
When an account closes, its data is deleted as the privacy notice describes. Sections that by their nature should survive, such as liability and governing law, continue to apply.
Disclaimers
Shotcup runs code you write or that your tools generate. You are responsible for that code, for checking its output and for how you use it. Do not use Shotcup where a failure could lead to death, injury or serious harm.
For business customers, the service is provided "as is" and "as available", and to the extent the law allows, we exclude all terms, conditions and warranties not set out in these terms, including fitness for a particular purpose.
For consumers, we must provide the service with reasonable care and skill and as described. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer, for example under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Citizens Advice can tell you more about them.
Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit or exclude.
If you are a business customer, we are not liable for loss of profits, revenue, business, goodwill or anticipated savings, for loss or corruption of data, or for any indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability to you in any 12-month period, whether in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise, is limited to the greater of £100 and the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months before the event that gave rise to the claim. You will compensate us for claims by third parties arising from your content or from your breach of the acceptable use policy.
If you are a consumer, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, or for business losses, since the consumer service is for your private use.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when the service, the law or our provider arrangements change. Each version has a number and a date at the top of this page. If a change is material, we tell account holders by email or in the dashboard at least 30 days before it takes effect, unless it is needed sooner for legal or security reasons. If you do not agree, stop using Shotcup and cancel before the change takes effect; continuing to use it afterwards means you accept the new terms.
Transfer of this agreement
We may transfer this agreement to a company we control, for example when Shotcup becomes a limited company, or to anyone who takes over the service. We will tell you, and your rights under these terms will not be reduced. You may transfer your account only with our written agreement.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you can also bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the UK where you live, and if you live in the EU you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of your country and can bring proceedings there.
If you have a problem, please contact us first at support@shotcup.dev so we can try to resolve it.
If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we do not enforce a right at once, we do not give it up. Nobody other than you and us has rights under these terms.
